Eva Maxim is fresh off a plane, running on no sleep — and still glowing. She gushes about a costume she’s planning for an upcoming photo shoot, all gold accents and attitude. She’s been scouting a location for it.
“It’s going to look like I’m in Egypt, or somewhere out of this world,” she laughs. “And I’m going to get my body painted gold. All the way for you guys!”
When you want to create, it shines through in your work. Otherwise it’s not going to come out right. That’s why I take long vacations!
Nonstop builds, wigs on standby, props curing on the counter. Every year, that’s Maxim’s rhythm leading up to October, when she produces “31 Days of Halloween,” a series of content drops featuring 31 scenes, 31 different costumes and 31 different locations.
“It leaves me dead,” she admits. “But I love it.”
Family Values, Latina Pride
Maxim has been in the industry for about six years, minus a two-and-a-half-year pause in the middle. She came back because she missed it, and because of the financial freedom her adult career brings.
“I love the industry,” she attests. “I’m able to take care of my parents because of the industry, and I’m very grateful.”
Maxim is equally thankful that her folks have consistently backed her choices and been in her corner.
“Thank God my parents have been supportive of my work, my transition and everything I have decided to do,” she says. “As long as I’m happy and I’m safe, they’re good. They respect me.”
As a result, family conversations around her line of work have been honest — and occasionally, hilariously practical.
“I told my dad, ‘I don’t know what kind of porn you watch, but if you see someone that looks like me, don’t click because it’s probably me!’” she laughs.
Aware of her own good fortune, Maxim shares some insights for anyone who has yet to come out at home.
“Sometimes people have extremely strict parents,” she acknowledges. “When you tell them you’re gay or whatever, they’ll kick you out because they don’t know how to deal with those emotions. My best advice is: Try to educate your parents a little bit. Throw hints here and there until you come out fully. But try to find support outside first — just in case something goes sideways.”
Maxim has faced some resistance from other relatives, she reveals.
“Some extended family members still don’t support my choices, but that doesn’t matter to me,” she says confidently. “I just care what my parents think, and that’s it.
“As a Latina, I’m very close to both of my parents,” she adds. “It comes embedded in the DNA!”
Maxim’s Latina identity is a central part of who she is. When her publicist, Lainie Speiser, prefaces Maxim’s name with “Cuban star” in a press release, that’s no accident.
“No matter where I go, I make sure she always says I’m Latina,” Maxim affirms proudly. “Sometimes, because we’re Latina, we’re brushed to the side. So I make sure every time I work on something, that’s represented.”
Geeking Out, Glamming Up — and Getting Away From It All
While she enjoys studio work, Maxim is arguably best known as a prolific content creator. Still, she appreciates what each lane delivers.
“With studio work, you get a lot of free promotion, which helps get your name out there,” she explains. “But with content creation, you get more creative freedom. You get to do customs, cosplay, perform with whoever you want. It’s a little more intimate and helps you connect with fans.”
For Maxim, that includes geeking out with her followers over a shared love of cosplay, anime and all things geek culture.
“I’m a nerd,” she declares, grinning. “I do Pokémon cosplays and everyone loves it.”
Indeed, anime and other character cosplays make up a huge part of her most popular content. While she hasn’t yet cosplayed at big conventions, she loves bringing her favorite characters to life, and lights up when she describes the craft of it.
“I love building props and making molds of things,” she gushes. “It’s so much fun to do.”
As for favorite studio projects, Maxim can recite a long list. One is “Gorgons and Goddesses,” fellow performer-creator Ariel Demure’s joint venture with Ten15Group. That production took the trophy for Best Trans Sex Scene at the 2025 XMAs, for a scene in which Maxim appears alongside a veritable who’s who of trans adult stars.
Another is Adult Time’s “Muses.”
“I shot that film with Kira Noir,” she says, almost giddily. “They gave me a lot of creative freedom, so I chose the set, makeup and wardrobe.”
As her all-time favorite thus far, however, Maxim names the 2024 Adult Time production “D.O.L.L.S.”
“That film is really beautiful,” she gushes. “It felt like old-school Hollywood glam. They should make a ‘Part Two.’”
For Maxim, craft is as important as chemistry.
“When everything comes together — makeup, lighting, costume, mood — that’s when it’s a whole experience,” she explains.
Currently, she has three of her own miniseries in the works.
“One is called ‘Devil’s Girl’ — I’m a devil, and people come to hell to get punished, but then they get pleased,” she confides with a mischievous grin. “And I have ‘Maxim Hospital,’ where I play a nurse who keeps getting fired because of misconduct. They’re both six episodes, and the very last one is an orgy with every single person I worked with through the miniseries.”
The third concept is a bit more unconventional, and includes a documentary-style element.
“In ‘Eva Did It First,’ I’m with people who have never been with a trans person before,” she says. “There’s a little interview before and after.”
As with everything Maxim creates, she writes, styles and directs.
“It’s a full-time job,” she says. “But it’s mine and I love it.”
Of course, producing enough content for an entire 31-day Halloween marathon means shooting daily, or sometimes twice a day. That can create the danger of burnout — something Maxim is determined to avoid, as she believes fans can tell when a performer is phoning it in.
“When you want to create, it shines through in your work,” she affirms. “Otherwise it’s not going to come out right. That’s why I take long vacations! I literally just got back from Miami. Today is my first shoot after a month.
“My mom lives there, so I just go and stay with her,” she explains. “I go to the beach, I tan, I eat good food, I get massages. I relax, watch anime — anything that has nothing to do with work.”
How would Maxim describe a perfect non-work day?
“Waking up and cuddling with my beautiful cats,” she says, sitting back in her chair. “I have a whole garden going with over 100 plants, so I’ll water them, smoke a little weed, watch my shows and relax. That’s a perfect day off for me.”
‘Your life will change’
For anyone eyeing adult work, whether they’re Latina, trans or just new to the industry, Maxim offers the same advice: “Do your research.”
Understanding what they’re getting into, she says, will help aspiring creators and performers make sure they are ready to take that big step.
“Once you do your first video, once your first adult content is out, there is no turning back — your life will change,” she cautions. “So make sure you’re 100% certain the decision you’re making really is best for you. Have the correct and mature mentality coming in. You have to be strong, and confident that this is really what you want to do.”
As with any career, she notes, there are pros and cons to working in adult. That makes it important to get the inside scoop.
“Ask around and make some friends in the industry,” Maxim suggests. “Then, if you like what you hear, go for it.”
Once you do take the leap, she adds, embrace it, since trying to hide what you do is a recipe for misery.
“The people you love are going to find out,” she says knowingly.
The key, she concludes, is getting past social stigma and realizing there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
“It’s a regular, normal job — you’re paying taxes!” she says. “So just be proud of who you are.”
